Questions
Choose your session. Know your cost. Book with confidence.
Do you offer massage packages
Yes. Tonosis offers package concepts for sports massage, deep tissue massage, relaxation massage, Reiki, and integrated care. Packages are designed to improve outcomes, increase consistency, and reduce the cost per session compared with one-off bookings.
Which package should I choose if I am not sure?
If your issue is physical pain, training stress, or recurring stiffness, start with the sports therapy or sports massage packages. If stress, sleep, or overwhelm are the main concerns, choose relaxation massage, or the combined plan.
What is a Sports Injury Assessment, and do I need one?
A Sports Injury Assessment is an exciting first step in your journey to recovery from any new injury! During this appointment, I will take the time to listen to your symptoms and thoroughly assess your movement, strength, flexibility, and biomechanics. With some engaging clinical tests, we’ll work together to pinpoint the source of your pain or injury.
Our main goal is to understand your unique condition and create a personalised treatment and rehabilitation plan just for you, whether you aim to get back to sports, exercise, or simply enjoy daily activities again.
If you’re experiencing a new injury or have concerns that haven’t been addressed yet, scheduling a Sports Injury Assessment is the starting point. After our initial assessment, we can plan for ongoing treatments, rehabilitation, and progress reviews through Sports Injury Follow-Up appointments.
What does a Sports Massage appointment include?
The primary goal of a Sports Massage appointment is to offer you an amazing massage experience! While we won’t conduct a full injury assessment or diagnosis, we’ll start off by chatting about your concerns, including any areas of tension or discomfort. A quick postural check might be included if it’ll enhance your treatment, but it’s not an extensive clinical assessment.
The main focus of your session will be on effective sports massage techniques tailored to alleviate muscle tension, boost your mobility, speed up recovery, and support your overall musculoskeletal health.
If you’re experiencing a new injury or ongoing pain, or require a detailed assessment and rehabilitation plan, we invite you to book a Sports Injury Assessment, which is more suited for your needs.

What is the difference between Sports Massage and Deep Tissue Massage?
While Sports Massage and Deep Tissue Massage may use some similar techniques, they serve very different purposes and can be incredibly beneficial in their own right!
Sports Massage is all about boosting athletic performance, speeding up injury recovery, and supporting active lifestyles. It’s fantastic at managing delayed onset muscle soreness (DOMS), enhancing flexibility and mobility, and promoting quick recovery after training sessions. Sports Massage is the perfect companion for athletes and active individuals to stay at the top of their game.
On the other hand, Deep Tissue Massage targets chronic muscle tension and the stress that builds up from everyday activities. While it shares some strokes with Sports Massage, the focus shifts to releasing tight muscles and reducing stiffness, leading to greater comfort overall. This type of massage is especially helpful for those who spend long hours at their desks, driving, or performing repetitive tasks.
In a nutshell, if your goal is to elevate your sports performance or recover from an injury, Sports Massage is your best bet. However, if you’re seeking relief from the muscle tension and stress that come from daily life, Deep Tissue Massage is the perfect choice. Both methods can lead to a more balanced and healthier lifestyle!
What is a Relaxation Massage?
Relaxation Massage is a truly revitalising treatment that melts away both physical and mental tension while promoting a deep sense of calm. This soothing therapy primarily features techniques of traditional Swedish massage, incorporating long, flowing strokes and gentle kneading that work wonders to improve circulation and relieve muscle tension.
Ideal for anyone feeling the weight of stress, sleep disturbances, or the fast pace of daily life, Relaxation Massage is your perfect escape to recharge and rejuvenate. It’s a wonderful chance to step back, disconnect from daily demands, and nurture your well-being.
If you’re busy juggling work, family, or other responsibilities, this treatment is here to offer you the ultimate self-care experience. Treat yourself to some well-deserved relaxation, lower your stress levels, and enhance your overall sense of happiness. You deserve this time for yourself!
What is Reiki?
Reiki is a gentle, non-invasive complementary therapy that focuses on promoting relaxation, balance, and overall wellbeing. During a Reiki session, the practitioner either applies a light touch or holds their hands just above your body, supporting your natural healing processes and fostering a profound sense of calm.
Many people turn to Reiki to help manage stress, anxiety, fatigue, sleep issues, and the everyday emotional and physical challenges life brings. It can be particularly helpful for those experiencing symptoms during perimenopause, alleviating stress, improving sleep, stabilizing mood, and easing feelings of overwhelm.
Reiki has found its place in some hospitals and healthcare settings as a thoughtful complementary therapy, assisting patients in managing chronic pain and long-term health conditions alongside traditional medical treatments. It’s essential to remember that while Reiki is a fantastic addition to your wellness journey, it should not replace medical diagnosis or treatment as any complementary therapy.
One of the standout features of Reiki is its non-invasive nature. Clients remain fully clothed and can simply relax into the experience, allowing themselves to be fully present during the session.
At Tonosis, we are proud to offer Reiki Healing exclusively through Despina, an experienced practitioner who has dedicated many years to this healing practice. Her calm and professional approach helps create a safe, nurturing atmosphere where clients can focus entirely on their rest, recovery, and overall wellbeing.
